...And it's time for Halloween again. That means a whole lot of fun and activities, and of course a party for the kids, because kids, they need their party. When it comes to a Halloween party, there's all the preparation to it―there will be costumes, food, and Halloween games.
And nothing will get the kids more excited than that. So what have you planned for some activities for the day? If you're not really sure yet and want a few ideas for some fun Halloween activities for kids, then keep reading for exactly that.

Best Dress Wins

When you invite the kids over for the party, inform them that you'll be hosting a competition to decide the best Halloween costume. Let their imagination run wild and let them design a really cool attire, complete with face paint and the like.
When they are over at the party, get a makeshift stage into place, have them say a dialog or two explaining their costume and then a dialog as the character that they are portraying. Give the best costume a prize at the end of the competition.

Games to Play

Games is the favorite part of the evening for kids. Have some ready and waiting for when they get there. The remainder of the eve will be spent in this one, so what you can do is use these games as an alternating choice between the other activities that you have planned.
You could host some scary games for them, but if not, here are some other popular games that you can play:
  • Hide and seek
  • Musical chairs
  • Scavenger hunt
  • Bobbing apples

Art and Craft

There is soooo much scope when it comes to Halloween crafts for kids, all you have to do is let your imagination run wild.
Here are some things that you could get the kids to design:
  • Face painting
  • Designing a face mask
  • Making a skeleton out of uncooked macaroni.
  • Story writing―give them a plot and get them to write a ghost story.

Ghost Story

Get into the complete mode of Halloween by having a ghost story prepared for the kids. Make it a scary one, complete with sound effects, lighting effects (even a simple flashlight used on the face will garner the desired effect) and a scary ending. Get them to sit around and then go into the gory details.

Host a Quiz

This one could either be an oral quiz or a written one, and yes, it'll require you to prepare for it first.
Draw up some of the most popular scary dialogs from scary films (make sure that you take into consideration the children's ages when picking the dialogs) and then have a quiz to see who can match the film to the dialog. Or simply focus on the scary films and draw up questions about the actors from the film and other related things.

Showcase a Film

Give in to a cliché of Halloween and showcase some scary movies. Create an ambiance that will scare the daylights out of them and get into the scary movies mode. Fun, fun, fun.
And that is how some of the best Halloween activities for kids are planned and played. These will be fun, to say the least. Try some of them and have a good Halloween!
