How to Plan the Perfect Halloween Party

Rujuta Borkar
If you're planning to throw the Halloween party this year, here are some useful tips for making it perfect.
You wish the guests would saunter in to your Halloween party and be all praises for it. That there would be nothing there to complain and nothing to lament about. No 'this should have been there' and 'that was not needed'. Just praises and talks of how perfect the party was.
That is of course possible and is exactly what we are going to be talking about in the sections that follow. So get your note pad out and take some pointers.

It is called planning for a reason, because a perfect party is not going to materialize out of thin air. It needs to be worked upon to get it down to perfection. Here's what you need to do for that.

Start at least 3 weeks before Halloween and the scheduled party date to ensure that there is plenty of time to deal with problems and not relegate them to the last minute.

Budget

Before you even start planning for the perfect party, get this aspect absolutely right. Plan a budget and stick to it. This will help to plan all the other Halloween party pointers that follow.
Once that is done, make a list of all the things that need to be purchased. Check to see if there is anything that is exceeding the budget and make changes accordingly.

Themes

Decide the Halloween theme. Whether it is going to be an adults-only party and the day it is going to be held. Is there a particular Halloween costume theme or even a party theme that you'll be following? And the kind of party music that there will be.

Guest List and Invitations

The guest list should be ready at least 2 weeks before the event. Make sure that it is drawn well and re-checked to see that there no one is left out. There are several choices where Halloween invites are concerned and the one you choose will depend on the theme that you have finalized.
Make sure to send the invites at least two weeks before the party and keep an option of RSVP so that you can take care of things beforehand.

Food

Halloween food can get really cheesy, with all the blood punch and starters made to look like skeleton fingers. But that is the essence of any Halloween party and giving into that is perfectly fine. You could do that or have a unique menu planned as well.

Decorations

This one is one of the main pointers to keep in mind. Good Halloween decorations should be a given at any Halloween party, 'cause that is what is the most fun anyway.
There are several decoration ideas to choose from and you need to plan this one to make the maximum impact. Half the joy is in having some of the best decorations for entertaining the guests.

Games

Do not forget the Halloween games as an integral part of all Halloween parties. These will, of course, depend on the kind of party that it is―whether it is an adults only party or are there children invited as well.
And now that you know how to plan that party, you'll have nothing stopping that earlier wish from coming true. To a grand party then, here's to a great Halloween!
