"New Year's Day is every man's birthday." ~ Charles Lamb
That's so true! Every year on the 1st of January, all of us wish to start our lives afresh. Many of us make resolutions and commitments to ourselves about the things we want to change or do in our lives. So, with 2019 just around the corner, sit back, skim through the things jotted ahead to get some ideas and plan how to act according to your resolution!

My Family and Me!

Give your loved ones, all the time, attention and love that they deserve. Often times, due to our professional commitments, we tend to ignore our family. Walk up to your dream girl and propose her. Or give your partner some breathing space in your relationship.
Missing a child's football game or forgetting to wish your wife on her birthday, may not seem like blunders now, but in the long run, it is these very small things and gestures which add up to form relationships!

A New Me!

If you have felt a little bored with your life, if you feel that your life is not moving ahead, it's time that you did something different, something new with it. So, go bungee jumping! If that's too risky for you, join a hobby class. Learn a dance form or take pottery classes.
If you like listening to songs, don't do that anymore, instead learn to sing yourself! In short, learn something new this year!

Health is Wealth!

If you look at any new year's resolutions list, you are sure to find losing weight and becoming fit, in that. As everybody knows that if we are not healthy, we won't be able to achieve any goal in life.
So make a resolution that from the coming year, you will exercise everyday and eat healthy. If you can do that, you will be warding of many possible diseases and achieving longevity, not to mention how much you will be improving upon your looks!

Bye-Bye "Bad Habits"!

For all adults, it's time to become socially responsible persons. From the coming year, tell yourself that you will pay your taxes on time. A very popular resolution that people make is that they will work for the people who are needy and dependent. So devote your time for the betterment of the poor, handicapped, diseased and elderly in the society.

Financial Responsibility!

With the economic recession hovering over our heads, the past couple of years have seen many job-cuts, leading to unemployment and increase in debts.
Take steps to get yourself out of this debt situation (if any) and manage your finances in the best possible manner in the future. Make 'spend less, save more' your new mantra for the new year.

Happiness All The Way!

Another resolution that people make is that they will remain positive and happy, no matter what the situation! If that means that they will manage stress and avoid getting angry by undertaking yoga, they will do that. If it means that they will stop being pessimistic in life, they will do that.
If it means taking break from work, once in a while and going on holidays with family, they would do that too!

Got to Shed the Extra Kilos!

If you find the scale tipping way past your ideal weight range, then it is time to lose the extra fab. It is time to welcome the 'new you'. So, cut down on your junk food and unhealthy eating habits. Start walking or go to a gym to reduce the extra bulk you are carrying around.
Losing weight will not only boost your self-image and confidence, but also do wonders to your overall health quotient.
You can add 'Fall in Love', 'Get a New Job', 'Get a New Pet', 'End an Abusive Relationship', 'Learn the Art of Politeness', 'Learn Something New', and many such ideas to your list. If you look at the facts and figures, more than 60 % of people say that they make resolutions every year. But how many of them can actually carry them through is any body's guess!
As one of the famous quotes goes, "Many people look forward to the New Year for a new start on old habits." So, if you do not want to be one of those people who cannot stay committed to his resolutions, be realistic while making them. Plan as to how you are going to achieve your goals and reward yourself as and when you make little progress! Happy New Year!
